Active learning techniques are an interactive and dynamic way to raise and
explore a wide
range of issues. They give people a chance to reflect and reassess
situations and try out what can be done in a safe
environment. People can "rehearse for reality". They stimulate
thinking and talking about issues, providing an environment in which
practical strategies can be tried and tested. People find this process
empowering.
No acting skills are needed and the atmosphere is one of mutual support and working together. Active learning opens up debate, crystallises meaning, deepens understanding and solves problems. People find new and better ways to communicate with each other. They find new strategies for the future, ones that work.
Active learning techniques are not a form of therapy or psychodrama. Their aim is always to stimulate debate, show alternatives and make sense of life. They give people the strength and confidence to make changes in their own lives. People free-up their emotions, imaginations and thinking.
This adds to and compliments the work people are already doing in their field of expertise.
Creative Training write educational packs for trainers and teach staff and teachers how to deliver them. We tailor the work to suit the exact requirements you give us or from specifications we identify through conducting a needs analysis with you. We write packs for 4 year olds through to adults. Our work covers dramatic improvisation, script writing, poetry, puppetry, music, art and craft, history, geography and more.

Development Education
Although there is a wealth of
development education resources available, many of these rely on replicating
the same teaching methods, much of which has a ‘dry, dusty and slightly
dated’ feel. Creative Training can give it an injection of vibrancy to make
your resources, your staff and volunteers, more up to date and effective.
We know through previous work with charitable organisations our particular creative approach to learning has resulted in an extremely positive and enthusiastic response and leaves people hungry for more. Participatory and experiential teaching compliments ethical and outward looking learning.

Volunteers to Deliver Outreach -
This training is aimed at
empowering volunteers through professional development, with the confidence
and skills to encourage others to challenge injustice and inequality
locally, nationally and globally. It gives them great work experience, up to
date training methods and creates career opportunities. Creative Training
help volunteers to deliver a vibrant, effective, engaging, fun and
accessible learning experience in the community no matter what the issue.
This training will help Increase your capacity for community outreach and engaging with new audiences. It can also generate new income streams (through paid workshops and other sessions).
Creative Training use active learning methods to deepen understanding of and connection to global issues through experiential learning. The outcome of this is that the learning is much more long lasting, memorable and powerful for service users.
Training pack - We can also develop a training pack , that can be used in outreach. This will enrich, modernize and enhance existing teaching resources and make these available for others in the development education movement to use.
